Gabbie Ledesma

Undergraduate Student, Iowa State University

Gabbie is a Geology major and chemistry minor who works on preserving the redox state of lake sediments by dehydrating and embedding them anoxically. She is also working on imaging and elemental analysis with secondary electron microscopy (SEM). Her samples will be used to investigate trace element signatures of redox conditions in lakes, which are analogues to a paleolake on Mars currently being investigated by NASA's Curiosity mission.
